Service status:

What is 2FA? How do I enable/disable it?

What is 2FA

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) provides a secondary layer of security to make web apps and services across the internet more secure. In recent years 2FA has become a standard for a multitude of services requiring a login.

At Signable we offer the option to enable 2FA on your account, so that users across your organisation require a secondary form of validation to access their account.

2FA settings for Signable can be administered at company level and user level as outlined below:

Enabling & disabling 2FA at company level

Before we start - to administer 2FA at a company level you will require admin level access to your Signable account.

Step 1

Log into Signable.

Step 2

Click the profile roundel in the top right of the app and select ‘Company Settings’.

Step 3

Click the ‘Security’ tab.

Step 4

To enable 2FA at a company level, click the toggle under the ‘Enforce Two-factor Authentication (2FA)...’ section, so that it changes from ‘Not-enforced’ to ‘Enforced’.

To disable 2FA at company level, click the toggle so that it is set to ‘Not-enforced’.

Enabling 2FA at user level

If 2FA is set to ‘Enforced’ at company level, users will be prompted to set up 2FA the next time they log in, otherwise users can activate 2FA on their accounts as follows:

Step 1

Log into Signable.

Step 2

Click the profile roundel in the top right of the app and select ‘My Account’.

Step 3

Under the ‘Security’ section click the ‘Enable’ button in the ‘Two-factor authentication (2FA)’ section.

Step 4

Follow the instructions that appear on the next page to complete the setup…

  1. Download and install an authentication app (such as Google Authenticator) on your mobile device.
  2. Scan the QR code.
  3. Then enter and confirm the authentication code generated by the app.

Disabling 2FA at user level.

If 2FA is set to ‘Enforced’ at company level, you will not be able to disable it at user level, otherwise users can deactivate 2FA on their accounts as follows:

Step 1

Log into Signable.

Step 2

Click the profile roundel in the top right of the app and select ‘My Account’.

Step 3

Under the ‘Security’ section click the ‘Disable’ button in the ‘Two-factor authentication (2FA)’ section.
